Three ranges, three different jobs
The naming isn't obvious from the outside, so here's what actually separates them:
Ionbeam — bars
Slim LED bars for propagation shelves, seedlings, cloning, cupboards and under-canopy supplementation. Low wattage, mount almost anywhere, and useful alongside a main light rather than instead of one. The S16 and S11 are the full-spectrum versions.
Ionboard — panels
Single-board panels rather than spread bars. Simpler and cheaper than an IONFRAME at the same footprint, and the sensible choice for a small tent or a veg space where absolute evenness matters less. The S22 covers a 2x2, the S44 a 4x4.
IONFRAME EVO — bar fixtures
Bar-style fixtures with diodes spread across a wide frame instead of concentrated on one board. That spread is what gives even coverage to the edges of a tent and better canopy penetration, and it's why the EVO range is what serious flowering setups run. 280 W through to 1,000 W.

EVO8 and EVO10 share the same 112 × 113 cm frame, so they hang in the same space. The EVO10 puts 3,710 diodes and 1,000 W into it against the EVO8's 2,688 and 730 W — worth it if you're pushing a 5x5 hard, running CO₂ supplementation, or stretching to a 6x6, and unnecessary if you're not.
Spectrum and utility add-ons
Ionbeam U2 adds targeted UV alongside your main light, used late in flower for terpene and trichome development. It supplements a main fixture rather than replacing one.
Ionbeam Green is a green work light for checking on plants during lights-off without interrupting the dark cycle — useful if your tent's dark period falls when you're actually home.
Do you need a separate controller?
No. Every AC Infinity grow light includes its own controller with scheduled on/off and sunrise/sunset dimming — the IONFRAME EVO range ships with the Controller 77. You can run a full day/night cycle straight out of the box with nothing else bought.
A standalone controller like Controller AI+ is an upgrade, not a requirement. It extends control past the light to your fans, humidifiers and heaters from one place, with temperature, humidity and VPD-based automation the light's own controller doesn't offer. Worth adding if you're running a full climate setup — not something you need just to get a light on a timer.
FAQ
EVO3 or EVO4 — they're almost the same price?
They are, and the wattages are close (280 W against 300 W), so go by tent shape rather than price. The EVO3 is 41 × 83 cm, built for a 2x4 rectangle; the EVO4 is 52 × 58 cm, built for a 3x3 square. Putting the wrong one in means light spilling onto tent walls at the ends, or dim corners at the sides. Measure the footprint and match it.
What suits a 2x2 or smaller space?
The Ionboard S22 is the 2x2 answer at 115 W. The IONFRAME range starts at a 2x4 footprint, and for anything smaller than a 2x2 you're looking at Ionbeam bars — the S11 and S16 handle propagation shelves, cupboards, seedlings and cloning well.
IONFRAME or Ionboard for a 4x4?
The EVO6 if you're flowering and want even coverage into the corners — that's what the bar layout buys you. The Ionboard S44 is the cheaper single-board option and is perfectly good for veg or a less demanding grow. The gap shows up at the edges of the canopy, not in the middle.
Can I run a smaller light in a bigger tent and just raise it?
You can, but you'll pay for it in yield. Raising a light spreads the same total light over more area, which lowers intensity at the canopy everywhere. It's better to match the fixture to the footprint and dim it down than to under-light and hang high — a dimmed larger light also runs cooler and lasts longer.
Can I daisy-chain several lights together?
Yes — up to 80 fixtures on the IONFRAME range, so multiple lights dim and schedule as one. That's how multi-tent and multi-bench setups are usually wired. For lights outside the UIS platform, the UIS Lighting Adapter Type-A brings RJ11/12 fixtures with PWM or 0–10 V dimming into the same system.
Do I need supplemental UV?
No — it's an optimisation, not a requirement. Growers chasing terpene and trichome development add UV in late flower on top of a full-spectrum main light. If you're still getting the basics of your environment right, spend the money on climate control first.
