How much airflow, and where to point it
A circulation fan isn't a per-plant purchase, and the number of plants isn't the right way to size it. What you're aiming for is simpler: everything in the space should be moving slightly, all the time. Leaves should have a gentle, constant flutter — not being whipped around, and not standing dead still. Still air is where problems start; violent air causes its own.
Height matters as much as coverage. Air moving across the top of the canopy does nothing for what's underneath it, and the lower growth and the base are exactly where stagnant, humid air settles. The setup that works best in most spaces is two fans at different heights: one above or across the canopy, and a second lower down aimed through the stems and the base, so air is moving right through the plant rather than just over it.
That's a more useful rule than a fan-per-plant count. Set them to a speed where the whole space has movement, check the corners and the lower growth, and adjust from there.
Tailored, custom airflow
10 speed levels, 10 dynamic wind modes and 10 oscillation settings combine for precise control over circulation at every stage of growth — from ultra-gentle airflow for germination and seedlings up to full circulation for mature plants. In practice: run it low and steady for young plants so stems strengthen without stressing them, then step up speed and oscillation as they fill out and you want the whole canopy moving. The 90° rotation range with 55° tilt lets it work around lights, ducting and trellis netting rather than being blocked by them.

The Gen 2 EC motor is larger and re-engineered to extend oscillation lifespan, with a brushless design, carbon steel gears and dual-ball bearings. AC Infinity rate the bearings at 67,000 hours of continuous operation, which is why this holds up to running around the clock rather than being a seasonal item. The clamp is a compact metal build with a vice-grip-style mechanism for a more secure hold on tent poles — it won't slowly droop out of position over a cycle the way lighter clip fans can — and the fan mounts horizontally or vertically.

FAQ
How many fans do I need?
Judge it by movement rather than by a count. Everything in the space should be gently moving; if anything is standing still, you need more airflow or better placement. In practice most spaces want two fans at different heights — one across the canopy and one lower through the stems and base — rather than one fan working harder. A single S6 is usually enough for a small footprint like a 2x2.
Where should I position it?
Not aimed straight at the plants at close range. Point it slightly above or across the canopy so the air rolls through the space rather than blasting one spot, and place the lower fan so it moves air under and around the base. Oscillation helps here — it spreads the same airflow across a wider area instead of hammering one point.
Do I need a controller to use the Cloudray S6?
No. It plugs straight into a wall outlet and runs on its own controls with 10 speeds, 10 wind modes and 10 oscillation levels. Connecting it to a UIS-compatible AC Infinity controller adds app control, scheduling and automation, but isn't required.
Can I leave it running 24/7?
Yes — and you generally should. Air should be moving continuously, not in bursts. The EC motor and dual-ball bearings are built for continuous duty, the IP54 rating handles humidity, and at 11 W it's one of the cheapest things in a space to leave on.
Is it quiet enough to run overnight, e.g. near a bedroom?
31 dBA at maximum speed — roughly the level of a quiet room — and quieter still at lower speed settings. Most growers running a tent in a spare room or wardrobe find it fine to leave on overnight, especially a few speed levels down from max.
S6 or the larger S9?
The 9-inch S9 moves about 25% more air (405 CFM against 325) and throws a wider, softer spread; the 6-inch S6 is more directed and hits a narrower area harder. Both draw the same 11 W. The S6 suits smaller footprints and lower-level placement where you want a more targeted stream; the S9 suits wider coverage across a larger canopy.
What's the difference between the Cloudray S6 and the Cloudray A6?
The S6 has automatic oscillation across 10 levels; the A6 uses manual swivel positioning instead. Both share the same 6-inch impeller, EC motor and 10-speed range — go S6 if you want it to sweep the space on its own, A6 if you'd rather lock it aimed at one spot.
Will it fit my grow tent's poles?
Yes — the clamp uses a vice-grip-style mechanism designed for round tent poles and mounts horizontally or vertically, so it can be positioned wherever you need airflow, and holds firm even on poles that have worn or bent slightly over time.
I'm not a grower — is this any good for other uses?
Yes. It was designed for growers, but plenty of ours end up on desks, in offices, workshops, garages, server cupboards and caravans. The appeal is identical either way: 31 dBA so it doesn't intrude, 11 W so it costs almost nothing to leave running, automatic oscillation, and a clamp that fixes it to a desk edge, shelf or pole instead of taking up floor space.
