Holding a target, not just adding mist
A household humidifier runs to its own internal setting and stops. It has no idea what your extraction fan is doing, no external sensor, and no concept of VPD. In a space where a fan is actively pulling humid air out, that becomes a tank you refill constantly while the humidity still swings.
The T3 works the other way round. The corded probe reads conditions where your plants are — not where the unit happens to sit — and the vaporiser modulates across 10 levels to hold the number you set. Because it can trigger on VPD rather than relative humidity alone, it accounts for temperature too: the same 60% RH means something quite different at 20°C than at 30°C, and VPD is the figure that reflects what the plant is really dealing with.

The extendable tube reaches over 1.2 m, so moisture can be directed to a specific part of the space rather than dumped at the unit's feet. Aim the outlet into the path of a circulation fan rather than straight at the plants. Moisture that disperses through moving air raises ambient humidity; moisture that lands on leaves as droplets is a mould risk.

FAQ
T3 or T7 — which size do I need?
The T3's 4.5 L tank suits smaller tents and cupboards; the 15 L T7 suits larger tents and full rooms. Both use the same vaporiser technology and the same control set, so it isn't a question of capability — it's output and how often you want to refill. If you're between the two, size up: a bigger tank running at a lower level refills less often and cycles less.
How long does a tank last?
Up to 45 hours at maximum output. In practice it runs far longer than that, because a humidifier under closed-loop control only produces mist when the space actually needs it — the drier your room and the higher your target, the more often you'll refill.
Tap water or distilled?
Distilled or RO. Ultrasonic humidifiers atomise whatever is in the water, so minerals in tap water end up as fine white dust on leaves and surfaces, and as scale inside the unit. Using distilled avoids both and keeps the vaporiser working properly for longer.
Do I need a controller?
No. The onboard controller handles humidity triggers, VPD triggers, timers and cycles on its own, using the corded probe. A UIS controller is an upgrade that brings it under shared programming with your other devices, adds app access and logs the data — worth it once you're running several devices in one space, unnecessary if the humidifier is your only automated item.
Can it sit outside the tent?
Yes, and it's designed for it. The sensor probe is corded and the tube extends over 1.2 m, so the unit can live outside with only the tube feeding in. That keeps the tank easy to refill and the footprint out of the space, while readings still come from inside.
Is it noisy?
38 dBA — a soft hum rather than silence, and quieter at lower output levels. If it's in a room you sleep in, the backlit display can also be switched off so it isn't a light source during a dark period.
Will it fight my extraction fan?
If both run blind, yes — you'll humidify air that's immediately pulled out. Running both on one UIS controller solves it properly: the fan eases back while humidity is being added, and the humidifier stops when extraction is running hard. Standalone, set a sensible minimum level and avoid over-extracting.
