Heat Pack. delivers stable, controllable warmth for reliable seed germination. Built from highly conductive aluminium and powered by USB-C, it lets growers dial in their preferred germination temperature between 20°C and 35°C in precise 1°C increments.

Unlike traditional heat mats that warm a wide area at a fixed output, Heat Pack. concentrates warmth into a controlled thermal zone — efficient, precise, and quiet. It uses up to 6W during warm-up and around 1W to maintain temperature, making it one of the most energy-efficient germination heaters on the Australian market.

Heat Pack. is the central component of the modular Seed Starter ecosystem. Pair it with Sprout. for single-pod germination, and add other compatible skins as they release.

A Modular System That Grows With You

Heat Pack. is designed to be used interchangeably across multiple germination skins. One thermal engine, many germination formats.

  • Sprout. — single-pod silicone germinator (available now)
  • GermiPad. — coming soon to Australia
  • Germinator Mini. — coming soon to Australia

Buy Heat Pack. once, then expand your setup over time. Run multiple germinations in parallel by adding extra Heat Packs., or replace individual components if needed.

Why Stable Heat Matters for Germination

Seeds germinate best within stable temperature ranges. Most warm-season seeds — chillies, capsicums, tomatoes, basil — germinate fastest and most reliably at 24–30°C. Cool-season seeds prefer the lower end of the range.

Conventional ambient growing conditions in Australia rarely hold steady within these bands, especially overnight or in cooler months. Heat Pack. removes that variable. Set the temperature, leave it running, and germinate seeds that would otherwise fail or take weeks longer.

Key Benefits

  • Adjustable 20–35°C in precise 1°C increments
  • Stable, even warmth for reliable germination across seed varieties
  • USB-C powered — efficient, quiet, runs from any standard USB-C adapter
  • Energy efficient — up to 6W warm-up, around 1W to maintain
  • Durable construction — powder-coated aluminium with corrosion-resistant E-coat
  • Modular — interchangeable across the entire Seed Starter ecosystem
  • Memory function — remembers last temperature setting, resumes automatically when powered

How Heat Pack. Works

  1. Connect — Plug Heat Pack. into a USB-C adapter (5V, minimum 1.5A; 20W or higher recommended)
  2. Set temperature — Use the + and − buttons via the rear control ports with the supplied Allen key. Adjust in 1°C increments between 20°C and 35°C
  3. Confirm — The indicator light flashes with each adjustment and confirms when the new setting is saved
  4. Place a skin — Sit Sprout. (or another compatible Seed Starter skin) on top
  5. Germinate — Heat Pack. holds the set temperature for the entire germination cycle
  6. Resume — When powered off and on again, Heat Pack. automatically returns to its last saved temperature

To reset to the calibrated default of 27°C, follow the reset procedure in the included instruction manual.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need anything else to use Heat Pack.? Yes — Heat Pack. is the heat source, but you'll need a Seed Starter skin (such as Sprout.) to actually germinate seeds. You'll also need a USB-C wall adapter (most modern phone chargers will work — minimum 5V/1.5A, 20W+ recommended).

How is this different from a regular seedling heat mat? Most heat mats are fixed-output, low-precision, and warm a large area at one temperature. Heat Pack. is a precision-controlled thermal unit you can set anywhere between 20°C and 35°C in 1°C steps, paired with a sealed germination chamber. The result is more accurate, more energy-efficient, and tailored to the specific seed variety you're germinating.

Can I use Heat Pack. without Sprout.? Heat Pack. is designed to be used with Seed Starter skins. Sprout. is the first AU-available skin. GermiPad., Germinator Mini. are coming to Australia soon.

How much power does it use? Up to 6W during warm-up and around 1W to maintain temperature. Running 24/7 at maintenance power costs only a few cents per week at typical Australian electricity rates.

What USB-C adapter do I need? A 5V USB-C adapter delivering at least 1.5A. A 20W or higher adapter is recommended for optimal performance and faster warm-up. Most modern phone chargers meet this spec — check the wattage printed on the adapter itself.

Can I run multiple Heat Packs. at once? Yes. Each Heat Pack. operates independently. Many growers run several in parallel — one per seed variety or temperature requirement.

Can I leave it running 24/7? Yes. Heat Pack. is designed for continuous operation throughout the germination cycle and uses minimal power once stable.

What happens if the power goes out? When power is restored, Heat Pack. automatically resumes operation at the last saved temperature. No need to reset it after each outage.

Does it ship from Australia? Yes. Quick Bloom Lights stocks Heat Pack. in Sydney and ships across Australia, for intl. reach out to us at sales@quickbloomlights.com.au

What's the warranty?  12 months from purchase date.
