The Athena Pro Line Fade is a nitrogen-free finishing nutrient for the last 3 weeks of flower. It replaces Pro Line Core in the feed and runs alongside Pro Line Bloom, supplying the calcium and trace elements plants still need to ripen properly while taking nitrogen out of the recipe. It comes as a ready liquid, so there's no concentrate to mix.
Why take nitrogen out at the end
Excess nitrogen late in flower is known to delay maturation. Tapering it off, or removing it entirely, helps the crop ripen on time. The catch is that simply cutting Core also cuts calcium and micronutrients, which plants still need right to the finish. Fade solves that: it keeps calcium and trace elements in the feed while leaving nitrogen out.
Athena reports that in their own testing, running Fade with Pro Bloom through the last 3 weeks increased total cannabinoid and terpene production without raising the risk of deficiencies or bud rot.
How to use it
For the final 3 weeks of flower, stop Pro Line Core and add Fade instead, alongside Pro Line Bloom, at 2.6–4.2 mL per litre (10–16 mL per US gallon). Fade is formulated to the same liquid dilution rate as Core at Athena's 2 lb-per-gallon concentrate, so the swap slots straight into an injector setup. Is Fade a flush?
Not in the plain-water sense. It removes nitrogen from the feed but keeps calcium and trace elements going, so plants aren't starved while they ripen.
Do I keep running Pro Line Bloom?
Yes. Fade replaces Core only. Bloom stays in the feed through the final 3 weeks.
Can I use Fade with the Blended Line?
Athena's Fade procedure is written for the Pro Line and hasn't been officially approved for the Blended Line. Some growers do use it with Blended, but that's outside Athena's published guidance — if you try it, do your own research and change one thing at a time.
How long will one bottle last?
That depends on reservoir size and feed volume. At 2.6–4.2 mL per litre, 3.78 L treats roughly 900–1,450 litres of feed.
