The Hydrone 5 has a real-world extraction rate of 4L/day. How you set it up makes a big difference to the result. For best performance, run in closed-loop mode with both ducts connected to your tent — this isolates the tent from surrounding air and is the most efficient setup. Match your exhaust fan speed to the dehumidifier; running an exhaust fan flat-out while the dehumidifier is on will keep pulling fresh air through the tent faster than the unit can dry it. The drier your lung room, the better the result, especially when targeting very low tent RH in summer. Note that the unit produces some warm exhaust air during operation, which is normal. Agree with the other reports, this is not what you are looking for in a 5 x 5 tent. It might work in some climates and set ups but won’t handle the tropics in summer, even with aircon on and exhaust turned right down. High wattage for its size and produces a fair amount of heat at flat biscuit. Drain pipe and use with the controller is good. The issue isn’t the unit itself, just the AC infinity marketing.

Another disappointment from ac infinity. This thing is way undersized. It may be acceptable for a 3by3 if you are locky with one plant in it. It lowered th rh by about 1% and was running on max 10 setting and made a problem of raisin the tent temples at least 5-10 degrees.

The Hydrone 5 is rated for up to a 5×5 (1.5 × 1.5 m) tent, but performance is heavily influenced by how the environment is managed around it.
If you’re running strong exhaust, the unit will struggle to hold dry air as it’s being pulled straight out of the tent — along with the little heat it generates. In that situation, it’s constantly trying to dehumidify new incoming air rather than stabilising the space.
A few key factors that make a big difference:
The humidity of the air being pulled into the tent
Whether you’re using a controlled lung room or drawing from open space
Placement of the unit (inside the tent vs outside running in a loop)
Air exchange rate — high airflow = less time to dehumidify
If the incoming air is already humid or being cycled too quickly, even a correctly sized unit can appear undersized.

In a 2.4x2.4x2 tent it works perfectly. But definitely need to attach the overflow tube to runoff excess water because it will fill the tank daily and overflow. Works with pro controller and all other ac infinity stuff to make perfect grow environment.

The unit is severely underpowered for what AC infinity says it’s rated for. It could not keep up with a 4x4 foot space with 4 plants. I ended up having to purchase a separate dehumidifier to compensate. It would be good for maybe a 3x3 foot space with one plant.

Worth the Wait
I'm glad I pre ordered this and waited for it to arrive! Installed today 12/03 and works great.... worth every dollar!
You’re crazy if you don’t swap core for fade in the last 10-14 days removing all the nitrate!! The plant has no choice but to translocate nitrogen and really help in senescence. Running fade and bloom still at full ec ensures you have a super healthy plant all the way to harvest. Having a plant completely finish without any deficiencies is a beautiful thing.
