The Athena Blended Cleanse is a hypochlorous acid treatment that keeps your irrigation system, reservoir and growing media clean while the crop is in. Run a low dose in the feed and it breaks down mineral scale and residual organic matter before it can block drippers or build up in the root zone. It adds almost nothing to your EC, so it slots into any Blended or Pro Line feed without upsetting the mineral balance — which is why it's our second-best-selling Athena product.
Clean lines, clean media
Every feed leaves something behind. Over a run, mineral scale builds up inside drip lines, emitters and filters, and residual organic matter settles in reservoirs and media. Flow drops, emitters clog unevenly, and some plants end up fed differently to others. Cleanse is made to stop that happening rather than fix it afterwards.
Athena makes it from salt using an electrochemical process, producing a mild, plant-safe acid with strong oxidising properties. At maintenance rates it's non-nutritive and very low in dissolved solids, so it cleans the system without adding to the feed or throwing out your EC readings.
Built for recirculating and DWC systems
Recirculating systems carry the most risk, because the same water passes the roots again and again. Athena recommends Cleanse for any RDWC or recirculating setup to reduce scale and break down low-solubility mineral complexes that plants can no longer use. It helps keep the reservoir free of the buildup and biofilm that tend to follow warm, poorly oxygenated water.
Beyond the reservoir
The same bottle does several jobs around the grow room. A stronger dose works as a flush to clear residual mineral buildup from media and lines at the end of a run or whenever a system gets out of balance. A dip is widely used on fresh cuttings and in cloning machines. Diluted further, it cleans benches, trays and equipment without harsh chemicals.

FAQ
Is it safe to use on plants in flower?
Yes. At the maintenance rate it can be used at any stage, from cuttings through to the final week, and it adds almost nothing to your EC.
Do I need it if my drippers are working fine?
That's the best time to start. Scale and buildup accumulate slowly and show up as uneven flow late in a run. A low maintenance dose in every feed keeps the system clean instead of waiting for a clog.
Can I use it in DWC or RDWC?
Yes — recirculating systems are where Athena recommends it most. It's part of Athena's Blended RDWC procedure.
Can I use it with microbial products?
No. Cleanse is an oxidiser and will work against beneficial bacteria and fungi. Use it if you run a clean root zone; skip it if you run inoculants.
Does it work with the Pro Line?
Yes. Cleanse is sold as part of the Blended Line but is non-nutritive, so it runs alongside a Pro Line feed without changing the recipe.
