The QBL 5-Piece Toothless Grinder is our own take on a grinder that gets used every day. Instead of sharp teeth it uses a toothless, pressure-based chamber with a strong magnet, which breaks material down evenly and has nothing fragile to snap off. Below that sits a fine mesh screen and a collection tray, and above it a built-in storage chamber so what you have prepared and what you have not both live in the same pocket-sized unit. Machined from aluminium in a matte black finish, 62.5 mm across. Designed and backed by Quick Bloom Lights, shipped from Sydney.
Why toothless changes the experience
A conventional grinder works by shearing material between two sets of sharp teeth. It works, but the teeth trap material, they clog, and if you drop the thing or force it, they bend or break and the grinder is finished.
A toothless chamber applies even pressure across the whole surface instead. The result is a more consistent grind with less of it packed into corners you cannot reach, and a unit with nothing fragile in it. The strong magnet holds the chamber closed while you twist, so it stays aligned rather than wandering.
Five pieces, each doing something
The top storage chamber is the part people notice first — somewhere to keep material ready without carrying a second container. Below it, the grinding chamber does the work, then a fine mesh screen separates the finest material from the rest and drops it into the bottom collection tray. A cleaning brush and scraper are included for keeping the screen clear.
It all stacks into one piece about the size of a jar lid, so nothing is left behind because it was inconvenient to carry.
Built to be used, not admired
Aluminium with a matte black finish: light in the hand at 166 g, but solid enough that it does not flex or rattle. The threads are cut cleanly so the sections come apart easily even when the grinder has been used hard, which matters more day to day than any spec on paper.

FAQ
How does a toothless grinder actually work?
Rather than shearing material between sharp teeth, the chamber applies even pressure across the whole surface as you twist. Load it, twist, and it breaks down consistently. Because there are no teeth for material to pack into, it clogs less and comes clean more easily.
Is it durable?
Yes, and this is where toothless designs have the clear advantage. Teeth are the part that bends, dulls or snaps on a conventional grinder, and there are none here. Combined with a machined aluminium body it is built to keep working rather than to be replaced.
Will it handle larger amounts?
It does, and evenly — the pressure-based action works the same whether the chamber is lightly or fully loaded. Anything you prepare ahead goes straight into the top storage chamber, which is exactly what it is there for.
What is the mesh screen for?
It separates the finest material from the main grind and collects it in the bottom tray. That happens on its own as you use the grinder, so over time you accumulate it without doing anything extra. Brush the screen through occasionally to keep it flowing.
How big is it really?
62.5 mm across and 63.4 mm tall — roughly the footprint of a jar lid and a little taller, at 166 g. Small enough for a pocket or a bag, heavy enough in the hand to feel like a tool rather than a novelty.
Why buy the QBL one?
Because we stand behind it directly. It is our own product rather than something we resell, so the specification is our choice, the quality is our responsibility, and if something is not right you are dealing with the people who put it on the shelf. Stocked in Sydney and shipped domestically.
