Venting through a cracked-open window works until the weather turns, the light gets out at night, or something finds its way in. If the opening measures between 66 cm and 155 cm once the sash is slid back, yes. The plates run in a track and lock at the length you set, and the kit installs either way up, so a tall vertical window and a wide horizontal one both work.
Can I use it with an 8″ (200 mm) fan?
Not directly — the coupler takes 100 mm and 150 mm ducting. A reducer in the run before the window is the usual answer, at the cost of some airflow, and for a large fan a dedicated wall or ceiling outlet performs better.
Does it work for a portable air conditioner?
